Where are you from? How/why did you end up where you are now?

We are from the North Shuswap, and have lived here all of our lives. We have deep roots in the community and intend on living here for the remainder of our journey.
 
How have you grown since you first started your business?

We have grown tremendously, both in personal growth and business growth. We have continuously adapted, and adjusted to our surroundings. Our employees have grown, our revenue is increasing and we continue to meet our goals.

What have been your biggest challenges and how did you overcome them? 

Our biggest challenge by far has been dealing with the ever-changing restrictions and rules regarding Covid 19. It has been very difficult on us both mentally and emotionally. However I feel the worst parts are behind us and we can move forward in a positive direction.
 
What is your favourite part of being a business owner and your job? Why do you do it?

My favourite part of being a business owner is the daily tasks, the mingling with customers and providing jobs in our community. I do what I do because it makes a difference in our community, and I love being a part of the solution. 
 
How does living in the North Shuswap impact your business?

Living in the North Shuswap impacts our business in a great way. We live less than 10 min away, we provide employment opportunities in a rural setting. We support local as much as possible and get to work and play in one the best communities around.
 
What makes your business unique and stand out from others in the industry?

Our business is unique and stands out from other industries because we are several identities under one umbrella. The Hub is the only pub-like establishment, we have a seasonal ice cream shop and a 24/hr gym that operates year-round.
  
What are your goals for the future of your business?

Future goals for our business would be to eventually have ownership in the property, make sure all spaces inside the building are utilized properly and generating revenue. 
 
 Would you recommend the North Shuswap to upcoming business owners? If so, why?

Absolutely I would recommend the North Shuswap to upcoming business owners. It’s a very supportive community, you can work by day and take in all the activities to do year-round. It’s a balanced lifestyle. 
 
What is a fun fact about you and your business?

Fun fact about our business, it used to be an abandoned building, set up as a previous grocery store and we turned it into a pub, ice cream shop and gym.
