Marv Machura To Bring Live Country and Classic Dance

Music to the Salmon Arm Legion

May 9, 7-10 pm

Marv Machura is set to bring live Country and Classic Dance music to the Salmon Arm Legion Saturday, May 9.

Marv Machura is a Vernon-based artist well-known for his live dance shows that feature Country and Classic Dance music. He says, “I love this music and love playing it for a dancing crowd!”

He says, “This dance will feature country dance songs by popular country artists like Allen Jackson and Dwight Yoakum. But it will also have classic waltzes and polkas mixed in with classic rock and roll like Elvis and Neil Diamond.”

Machura has been pleasing crowds with his mix of music for the past years in the Okanagan Valley. He is currently featured at the O’Keefe Ranch in Vernon where he hosts as weekly Country Dance Night each Wednesday. He says, “It’s great to play music I love for people who love to dance.”

Machura first got into music as teen playing guitar in a popular wedding-and-dance band when just a teen. He continues, “It’s kind of come around full-circle for me to be doing this same kind of music now.”

Marv Machura has had a full career in the music business as a singer-songwriter, publishing over 20 songs in Nashville and performing as a solo and band leader for many years and releasing four CDs and many singles of his own Western Canadian Roots music.

He concludes, “I am looking forward to bringing this great and classic dance music that I know and love so well to upcoming dance at the Salmon Arm Legion.”
